Children develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for business in this one-day marketplace.
Who: Students aged 6-16 years
When: Saturday, Nov 2nd, 2024 from 11 am- 3 pm

EVENT GUIDELINE
The SRCB will establish a FIRM cap on participants. Registration will close as soon as all spots have been filled.
The SRCB will take great care to limit the number of businesses in specific categories so as not to have too many similar business concepts.
If an applicant’s business idea is similar to entries that were accepted before the applicant’s submission, the SRCB will notify the applicant and provide the opportunity to resubmit a new application.
Applicants must be between the ages of 6 - 16 on or before the APPLICATION OPEN date.
All entries will be automatically entered in the business competition and booths will be judged on a variety of criteria including the most original business idea, highest business potential and best presentation/creativity.
Cash prizes of $30 per category and age group (to be split among the business owners). Winners will be announced at the end of the fair.
Each booth consists of a 6-ft table and 2 chairs. Table covers are not provided.
No more than 3 participants per booth/business idea.
Parents of younger children may sit in their booth, but the children are to be responsible for setup, sales and interacting with the customers. This event is designed to give children a taste of selling a product. Please let them have that experience.
Any parent seen advertising or selling on behalf of their child or promoting the child’s product to the judges will result in their child being disqualified from the competition.
BAZAAR APPLICATION
Please submit one application for each business not per child. One application should be submitted for a group doing a business together.
The Bazaar registration will be open until all 60 spots are filled.
The competition will be judged in the following three age categories: Ages 6-9, 10-12, and 13-16.
If children of different age groups prepare a business together, they will be judged in the age group of the oldest participant.
Please note that you may help your child fill out the booth application, but depending on their age, they are expected to do as much as possible by themselves.
We will begin to notify accepted applicants at the beginning of Oct 2024 and will continue until we reach our cap of 60 businesses.
Once your application is accepted, you can secure your spot at the Bazaar by making a payment of $20 per business to calgarymuslimhomeschoolers@gmail.com, Please note that the registration fee is not refundable.
We do have a limited number of bursaries available for families who require financial assistance for their child/ren to participate in the bazaar. Please email calgarymuslimhomeschoolers@gmail.com to apply.
