Not Back to School Picnic

Please join us in celebrating a new year of homeschooling at the Calgary Muslim Homeschoolers Not Back to School Potluck Picnic

Attendees will have the chance to sample a traditional Palestinian dish, Maklouba, and there will be a storytime for the kids about this dish and the cultural significance of the Palestinian keffiyeh scarf. If you have a keffiyeh, we encourage you to wear it to the picnic to show your support for our Palestinian brothers and sisters. 

In addition to the storytime, we have a volunteer ready to offer face painting and hope to organize some fun games for the kids (soccer, tug of war, beanbag toss, egg and spoon races, three-legged races etc). If you have equipment for games that you can bring, please sign up on the potluck form.

 Volunteers are also needed to help run the games, so please let us know if you can help!

When: Thursday, August 29th, 2024 at 12 pm

Where: Bowness Park - by the playground

Please bring a potluck dish, chairs, sunscreen, bug spray/Afterbite, water, soccer balls/frisbees/games.

There will be 2 propane BBQ grills available to cook burgers/hot dogs/chicken/kabobs. If you have another bbq we can use, please let us know. Please sign up for the Potluck below (use password: Picnic)
